Do I have to be a dance major to join the team?
-
No, not at all! Our team consists of dancers of a variety of majors.

What technique or skills will be required at auditions?
-
We don't have any specific technique requirements in order to join the team. However, our audition routines typically include double pirouettes, kicks, straight leaps, and calypso leaps. In order to get accustomed to our teams style, we welcome you to join our masterclasses.

Do you still hold master classes for those not on the team?
-
Yes! We plan to have 2-3 open invite master classes throughout the semester. These are open to anyone who would like to join. For more information, keep up to date with your Instagram and Facebook along with subscribing to our email list.

What is the required time commitment?
-
We usually practice once weekly, with the occasional added practice prior to an important performance or competition.

Are men allowed to audition?
-
Absolutely! We welcome all genders.

How can I prepare for tryouts?
-
The best way to prepare is by attending our audition prep classes the week before auditions. This is where we will teach the audition routine ahead of time, along with technique across the floor, and give a detailed overview of auditions, what it's like being on the team, and answer any questions. We also recommend attending any masterclasses we hold. Here you will be able to get a feel of our teams style.

What events do you typically perform at?
-
We perform at OU basketball games, OU volleyball games, OU Dance Marathon, Sooner Scandals Showcase, and various Norman community events.

When do you practice?
-
Practice times vary depending on the year. This year (2022), our team practices are held on Thursdays from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.

Is EDT student run or is there a coach?
-
We are a completely student run organization! Each year, the team elects a set of officers to help our organization run smoothly.

Is there a set number of open spots on the team?
-
No, we do not have a set number of members or spots available during auditions. We typically have 20-35 members in a given semester.
